Ecco Caffe, a premium roasting operation providing the freshest and most exemplary coffees, is on a mission to teach people to appreciate and enjoy the best coffees in the world.

Strongly supportive of the sustainable efforts of farmers and organic farming techniques, Ecco is committed to paying top premiums based on quality. To source these coffees, Barnett spends a great deal of his time tasting and rating coffees with the best tasters (cuppers) in the world at annual Cup of Excellence tastings, and building personal relationships with top growers in Brazil, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Guatemala, El Salvador and Ethiopia.

A master roaster, Barnett and his staff carefully roast each batch of coffee beans. His goal is to produce coffees that are rich and smooth, while also being sweet, complex and elegant. "I like to introduce to people flavors that open them to the world of exemplary coffee" says Barnett. "Premium coffees that are roasted properly taste great and leave a pleasant sweet aftertaste, similar to great wines and chocolates."

Ecco Caffe has received several 90 plus ratings for its single origin coffees and Ecco Reserve blends, and in 2006 Food and Wine Magazine rated Ecco as one of the best boutique roasters in the U.S.

Location: Ecco Caffe is an artisan coffee roasting company located in Sonoma County, home to many of the countrys most celebrated vineyards, wineries, farms, food producers and restaurants.

Sources: As a Certified Organic and Fair Trade Coffee roaster, Ecco Caffe sources directly from growers and importers who are dedicated to producing exceptional quality coffee beans and are socially and environmentally responsible. Andrew Barnett finds these growers by traveling three months a year to the worlds finest coffee growing regions and by judging in international coffee competitions, such as the prestigious Cup of Excellence in Brazil, Bolivia and Nicaragua from 2003-2007.

Roasting: Ecco Caffe skillfully roasts in small batches in a Northern Italian tradition - long enough to bring out the flavor profiles, complexity and sweetness of the beans but not too long for bitterness to surface. The goal is to produce coffees that are rich, smooth, complex, sweet and elegant.
